You would never dream that charming and sophisticated Chatree (Tan) Sitthiphan, 28, was born in the Isaan province of SiSaKet in a small village with dirt streets and rusty, tin-roofed houses. This Thai village is about 25 minutes north of the Cambodian border where there is the very famous Khmer ruin of Khao Phra Viharn.

In his own words, Chatree says,
“My immediate family consists of my mother, my father, 4 sisters, and 4 brothers, not including me. I am the third eldest. One sister is married to an Englishman and they live near London with their baby girl. Four members of my family are still in school.

“I have had many varied jobs in my short career: I ran a large household for a Chinese woman when I was a teenager. I have supervised the building of two homes. Having graduated from bartender school, I ran my own bar and restaurant, Cheers!, in Koh Samet that I later sold when the economy suffered under the coup in 2006.

“I now work as a private butler to an American professor from a very prominent family who has helped refine my skills, and, on weekends, to an English businessman who entertains regularly.

“My employers appreciate my service mind and attention to detail, combined with my gregarious personality and good English.
