Thailand Northern Thailand—an Oriental Overture with Golden Triangle and Brass Gong. (this is page 10 of 12)
Some of us like to splurge on a wonderful resort or hotel room in an establishment with fabulous (and fabulously costly) features. Others of us like to save that money to spend on restaurants or shopping. If you fall into the latter category, here is a lovely guest house that will cosset you with care and be very gentle on your budget at the same time. Peter (a Mancurian Candidate for the nicest guy in Chiang Mai) relocated from Manchester, England, England to partner with Jiap, a local banker. They built a lovely guesthouse, called it PJ’s Place, and it has become an international favorite.
Highlights: PJ's Place is gay friendly. PJ's Place has modern, custom built accommodations including ADSL internet access in all rooms. PJ's Place has remarkably high levels of comfort, cleanliness, and hygiene which combined with Peter and Jiap’s warm and friendly service has caused many to vote it the No.1 guesthouse in Chiang Mai. Room details:
All rooms are air-conditioned with en-suite facilities and queen size bed, and include a room safe, cable TV, mini bar, IDD phone, tea/coffee maker, complementary fruit basket, and LAN connection to ADSL internet in every room. (There are smoking and non smoking rooms.) Suites:
PJ's Place has two luxurious Suite Houses each with lounge and dining room/office with guest powder room/cloaks on the ground floor. The upper floor has a bedroom with a king size bed and either shower room or bathroom, and balcony. All suites are air conditioned with en-suite facilities, a king size bed, and each includes cable TV (2), Mini bar (2), tea /coffee making, complementary fruit basket, LAN connection to ADSL internet, IDD telephone, and a room safe. Places to dine:
Facilities: PJ's Place Standard Prices: A typical entry in the online guestbook: I’ll add my own: I’ve spent three delightful evenings with Peter and Jiap. Each time they suggested the restaurant and each dinner was of a different and delicious cuisine. Afterwards we would meander the town, drop into a seedy strip joint or two, or curl up at a cozy bar—very entertaining and lots of fun! Thanks, guys, you’re the greatest! Uncle Ted
