A Postcard from Singapore

Downtown Singapore from my bedroom

Stella by starlight

Frank Stella uses the same framer as The Edward Carter Galleries in New York. There are two of his colossal works in The Ritz Carlton, Millenia (yes, I know, but they spell it with only one) in Singapore. They flank the door to the pool, and to my favorite restaurant in the hotel—Snappers. While I had several business lunches in Snappers, it's best for dining under the stars next to the pool...really sublime.

The rest of the joint is big: 32 stories full of visiting senior management-types, a couple of big restaurants, a good health club, and enthusiastic staff. The rooms are big too, and very comfortable with acres of travertine in the bath.

My only gripe: it's sometimes a long wait for a taxi; best to factor that into your business schedule.
